Janine McMillan is a fully qualified dance teacher with over 15 years’ experience in teaching children and adults.
Janine has a BA (Hons) in Dance and Digital Performance (University of Hull), an MA in Digital Performance (University of Hull) a PG Cert in Dance/Movement Psychotherapy (University of Derby) and a PGCE (University of Hull). Janine is an associate member of the International Dance Teachers Association and has successfully completed training with 'Acrobatic Arts'.
Janine has worked as a dance practitioner with community groups such as ‘Voice of the Congolese Woman’ group (Supported by Tameside African refugee group and University of Derby), and Mind Doncaster (delivering dance sessions for adults with mental health issues and learning difficulties). She has worked in the dance industry collaborating with artists such as Lucie Lee Dance Company and currently works as a dance teacher for Liquidance (Ossett) and has a full time role at University Centre Doncaster where she is the Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Dance Practice degree working with undergraduate students to prepare them for life in the dance industry!
Janine McMillan Dance first opened in May 2016 and has already welcomed around 100 dancers and we keep seeing new faces every month! Classes are taught by Janine McMillan and Chanel Hampton at Woodfield Park Community Hall and at Woodfield Squash and Leisure club. Chanel has worked extensively in schools around Doncaster (including Hall Cross, Danum, Hilltop Primary and St Francis) delivering National Curriculum and extra curricular dance in Contemporary, Jazz, Acro, Street Dance. She was also the co-proprietor of Itzy Bitzy Ballet and Tiny Tappers (Edlington) teaching dance to 18 months up to 5 years
Chanel teaches the Tuesday syllabus and contemporary classes. Chanel is a highly qualified dance/drama teacher with almost 10 years teaching experience! She has a BA (Hons) degree in Dance Practice and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
